Teaching people how to tell their story in a better way is something many people want to learn and are willing to pay to learn. We have a four tier system for payment and so, we get the bigger nonprofits essentially to pay for the work we do with smaller outlets. We do about $100,000 in pro bono work for small nonprofits and start up community businesses. 10:36:01 From joanna leflore : http://mdbmsc.org - Omaha news foundation focused on youth training and more... 10:39:44 From joanna leflore : what’s it called in baltimore? 10:39:45 From Manolia Charlotin : Thanks Joanna and Susy 10:39:54 From Manolia Charlotin : BINJ Baltimore 10:40:43 From Manolia Charlotin : it’s from the Boston model: Boston Institute of Nonprofit Journalism 10:41:46 From Jason Pramas - DigBoston/BINJ : (catch the BINJ virus!) 10:43:41 From Jason Pramas - DigBoston/BINJ : binjonline.org 10:43:49 From Jason Pramas - DigBoston/BINJ : digboston.com 10:44:51 From Baynard Woods : binj-baltimore.org 10:45:07 From Manolia Charlotin : Thanks! 10:48:43 From johnheaston : We do more business in digital marketing services — helping businesses get their digital presence in order (all of it, after all, we do it for ourselves all the time) and it’s their best marketing investment. The phone book is our biggest competitor. Here’s a program you can sign-on to as a nonprofit if you’re helping businesses — gybo.com — and a cheesy video with youth implementing some of the programs — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UYB1t82ihc. Google wants this to be a grassroots effort, but it’s really a big revenue opportunity for anyone in communications and media. 10:49:10 From johnheaston : Best part, it really helps our businesses! 10:50:51 From Baynard Woods : yes 10:51:35 From Mike Rispoli, Free Press : +1 for peer2peer 10:58:09 From Susy Schultz : Thanks nice to meet you all
